Floating around the blog communities and news sites is the suggestion that Apple has developed a larger screen for the classic iPod Touch, with a choice of 7inch and 9inch touch screens. It currently features a rather tiny 3.5inch screen, so this new addition would be welcomed by many people who struggle to see on the small screen. Then again, we manage with mobile phones, so do we need a larger screen for the iPod Touch? The gadget would enable users to listen to music, watch films and surf the Internet on a more comfortably sized screen, but is this what people want?
Personally, i can’t see current iPod fans ditching their small screened beauty in favour of something larger. After all, one of the beauties of the iPod generation is the fact that you can do so much with something so small and compact. It almost feels like a larger screen sort of “defeats the object”. Anyway – i guess time will tell if this new iPod Touch goes down well, if it is ever to get launched.
There’s still quite a buzz in the technology industry about this, so lets see what happens. With the credit crunch in full swing though, i have to question the relevance of a gadget we already have being re-introduced with just a larger screen.

Well, it is a question that many people face when they are considering buying a new laptop. Perhaps they have previously had a brand not so good and they want to buy a laptop from the best manufacturer this time; knowing who makes the best laptops is crucial when deciding what machine to buy.
So far, i have found that Toshiba and Sony are the best computer manufacturers. I like the aesthetics of a laptop a lot, and Toshiba and Sony never disappoint. The Toshiba Qosmio laptop range was great for people that wanted a laptop to be functional and also look really great.
I once had a Fujitsu Siemens laptop and it was the worst i had ever owned! It lasted under a year and it had serious internal problems, the motherboard was broken twice in 10 months. Maybe they have improved things now, but it might be a while before i can be convinced to buy another Fujitsu Siemens laptop.

With technology constantly changing, i have to wonder if it is a friend or foe to us. I mean, we could soon become powered by technology to such an extent that we really will end up like the people in i-Robot, where robots try to take over the world. We have created them, so their power is limitless.
Anyway, it just concerns me that we are all obsessed with having the latest technology in everything from phones to computers, but where does this obsession stop We could keep creating and buying the very latest products which we then one day end up being ruled and controlled by. We think we control technology, but do we? Are you sure they don’t control us?!!!

My friend said she just got a fabulous new mobile phone from freeupgrades.co.uk and she recommended them to me! I am intrigued to find out more…
My friend has never been easy to please – she likes things convenient and with the minimum of fuss, so i was more than a little impressed when she said she managed to get a great new handset as part of a cheap mobile phone deal from a specialist dealership. They must have been good! She didn’t have to go to the high street or scour hundreds of sites online – she got a phone call from freeupgrades.co.uk telling her about a fabulous deal she could have on her next mobile phone contract. Since she was coming to the end of her existing contract, she was relieved to find that she didn’t have to go searching high and low for another mobile phone deal. The one she was offered from freeupgrades.co.uk was far better than the current deal she had and she got an amazing new handset too.
Since my friend had such a great experience with freeupgrades.co.uk, i am determined to give this company a go. My mobile phone contract is coming to an end in a few months’ time so rather than start worrying about how i’m going to get the best deal, there is only one company i am going to talk to, and that is freeupgrades.co.uk

It is curious to think how computer technology has changed our society. As technology advances, everything previous looks old and quickly vanishes from people’s homes.
Computer technology has changed our society because we rely so heavily on these technical pieces of equipment to help work, live and play. For example:
Work – businesses need computers to store data, manage accounts and market their products
Live – hospitals have advanced computer technology which we probably don’t think about all the time, but they are there keeping us alive and help during operations.
Play – as computer technology advances, so do our games that we can play on them. Games consoles are also computers, remember.
So, how has computer technology changed society? Well, it has made us a lot more efficient when undertaking day to day practices. It has meant we are able to study medicine better and help save more lives. Computer technology is so vital in our society, because without it, we would be very limited in our resources. We rely so heavily on computer technology.

Teddy Bear
A Classic Looking Teddy Bear…Roosevelt Would Be Proud
I started thinking about how the teddy bear came about. Such a simple creation that looks almost antiquated compared to a hot new Playstation 3 these days, but you would be surprised just how important the teddy bear has actually been.
In 2002, the teddy bear celebrated its 100th Birthday. Actually, i would have thought this would have been a lot longer. Only a 106 years old? Seems strange. I am surprised people way back in the 1700s didn’t coin the teddy bear name. It so iconic, even to this day, that it actually seems quite young when you think about it.
DID YOU KNOW?
The teddy bear is younger than the electric light, the telephone and the motor car? Yep. Now how weird is that?
The teddy bear was invented almost simultaneously in the US and in Germany, but it was the US that gave it its name. The name came about when Brooklyn based shopkeepers Morris and Rose Mitchum made a soft toy in the form of a bear and named it “Teddy’s Bear”, displaying it in the shop window with a copy of a cartoon. The cartoon depicted an image of a bear tied to a tree, which had been a sketch created after Theodore Roosevelt had been out shooting. He failed to make a killing, so his hosts found a bear and tied it to a tree. Roosevelt exclaimed “spare the bear” and the rest is history.
The US went bear mad and Roosevelt had a very effective and rather quirky political mascot!
However, let us not forget that the teddy bear invention came about in the US and Germany at the same time. Over in Germany, a disabled German seamstress with a soft toy factory in Giengen had added a soft plush bear to the Steiff catalogue and sold 3,000 to America in 1903. Between 1903 and the First World War Steiff sold literally millions of bears, with their trademark button in the left ear, to the United States, Germany and Britain, as the teddy bear overtook the diabolo as the latest toy craze.

So, there you have it. Once warring countries were in fact joint inventors of the famous teddy bear.
